Synopsis

In 1757 a French army of 9,000 men, including almost 2,000 of their American Indian allies, laid siege to Fort William Henry. For 6 long days the French cannons bombarded the fort, while their Indian allies harassed the men in the adjacent encampment.

The British subjects in the fort held out for as long as they could, but ultimately the French forces were too much for them.

More than 250 years later journals and letters from men on both sides of the conflict recount the events.
